While condo and townhouse living often means fewer exterior maintenance responsibilities, there are still several important steps you can take to prepare your home for the colder months. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you winterize your condo or townhouse, ensuring a comfortable and safe season ahead.

1. Check and Seal Windows and Doors

Drafty windows and doors can let in cold air, leading to higher heating costs and a less comfortable living environment. Here’s how to keep those drafts at bay:

• Inspect Seals:

Check around windows and doors for any gaps, cracks, or worn-out seals. Use weatherstripping or caulk to seal up any areas where air may be escaping.

• Window Film:

Applying a clear plastic film to windows can create an insulating barrier, reducing heat loss while keeping your space bright and airy.

• Heavy Curtains:

Consider adding thermal or heavy curtains for additional insulation. These can be drawn at night to help keep heat inside and provide extra warmth.

2. Clean and Inspect Heating Vents and Filters
